What An Actress!?!?

Mommy Monday

This past weekend my wife participated in a small role of our Christmas play. The play was hosted by our church.  The cast and crew did a wonderful job. Josh and Jenni Wright deserve special recognition for directing the play. The play was named Forgiven and was written by Jenni Wright. What a busy little couple they have been (on several occasions Josh has gone in and out of consciousness during some of our phone conversations).

My wife is excellent at several things. She is a wonderful mother, elegant dancer, a beauty queen, sporadic comedian, gifted mathematician, and incredible listener (at times can be frustrating because she doesn’t say anything). Although my wife has been performing in plays and dance recitals for years, I didn’t consider my wife to be an “actress.” Technically, I guess she is not. Regardless, I thought she did a wonderful job on her three minute part! How inspiring she was to us all (Do I sound like that parent?)! I know I sound patronizing or facetious. I kinda did it on purpose for the sake of laugh. But in all seriousness I though she did a great job (I only cried during her part).

On a interesting side note, I got quite nervous right before her part of the performance. I have been an athlete my entire life. I literally started playing football in the second grade and I hung up my track spikes after one year college running. So for me to get nervous is very unusual. It was a play at a local church in front of friends and family. I don’t know why my hands became sweaty and legs achy. I couldn’t even eat my dinner (maybe that was because it was lasagna and I dislike cheese). If I act like this over something so small, how in the heck am I going to watch our son throw touchdown passes in the NFL (or play nose tackle in pee wee)!

the nerves you will feel before your child does something will be crazy!! When we were going to the art show to find out how Jonathan did I thought I was going to throw up!! I almost fainted when I found out he won 1st place!! Way worse than any nerves I ever felt when I was about to do something.
