Why do women think we listen? I can’t even begin to mention all the instances when my wife told me to do something and I forgot. It’s not that I don’t care about the house or her feelings. After some thought one day I decided it must be her issue. Maybe shes asking at the wrong time. Maybe ( this is where I tend to stand) my brain doesn’t function the same way her brain does. I don’t understand, but for some reason my body can’t go from her audible words to me actually accomplishing something.

Oh, how awful those Saturdays can be. Yelling, frustration, bring up arguments from when we were dating, and the miserable crying scenes that seem to taint the entire day. For what, you might ask? Because she mentioned the playroom being dirty. OH…REALLY? Yeah, I heard what you said. I AGREED when you said it. I just didn’t know you wanted it done by 1:37 p.m. I thought it was a general statement like “the car is green” or “i like tacos.” In fact, I probably just agreed so we could talk about something else, like football.

I know woman want men to be subtle. I know they like the little cards and occasional flowers. Well, I don’t. I need a list, several large hints, and maybe a giant poster hung where I get ready every morning. I wouldn’t have cared about cleaning the playroom. Trust me, I would much rather clean the playroom than spend my Saturday talking about what I did wrong 6 years ago (which, by the way, has nothing to do with cleaning the playroom).

I have an idea. Let’s remove all doubt about intelligence and my pea sized brain (straight from Jess). Assume I am lacking in all areas of normalcy and make me a “honey do list.” Straight from the Urban Dictionary….

A list of chores assigned by one’s primary companion, sweetheart, and honey pot.

I know this is not a typical Mommy Monday post from me. I tend to fall on the mushy side. Let me put all confusion aside by saying that I desperatly love my wife. I am just saying I would appreaciate a few more lists and a lot less hints. On the other hand, I have receive a honey do list once before. So, I guess I am thankful for something this rainy monday evening.
